Our Mission

Garner Real Estate is a family-run real estate firm focused on acquisition, development, operations, and brokerage throughout Northern California.

Our work centers on long-term value creation through thoughtful execution, disciplined underwriting, and local market expertise. We approach every property from an owner and operator perspective — evaluating condition, layout, construction quality, and future potential before making decisions.

Its Origins

Garner Real Estate began in 2017 after founder Chris Garner transitioned from accounting into residential construction and real estate operations.

Starting in Los Angeles, the business focused on garage conversions, value-add housing, and small-scale redevelopment projects. After completing an early home renovation in Glendale, the company expanded into acquisitions, construction management, and residential investment opportunities throughout California.

That hands-on foundation continues to shape the firm today — with an emphasis on execution, problem solving, and understanding what exists behind the walls of a property.

Growth and Expansion

As the portfolio expanded, Garner Real Estate grew into a vertically integrated operation spanning brokerage, construction, property management, and development.

Work in Sacramento accelerated the firm’s focus on attainable housing, adaptive reuse, and small multifamily development. Through strategic acquisitions and phased projects, the company has continued to scale its residential and mixed-use holdings while maintaining a selective, operator-led approach.

Today, the firm remains active in South San Francisco, Sacramento, and surrounding Northern California markets.

Building Communities

Garner Real Estate has participated in the development, renovation, or management of more than 250 housing units across California.

The firm’s projects range from single-family value-add renovations to multifamily housing designed for working professionals, families, and long-term residents. Many projects focus on improving underutilized or deferred maintenance properties while preserving long-term usability and operational efficiency.

The objective is straightforward: build and operate durable housing that serves both residents and the surrounding community over time.
